4.5 stars "Color: dark; Tasting Notes: Our Cabernet Sauvignon “1886” is the ultimate expression of our terroir and winemaking philosophies. Made with grapes grown on our rockiest soils, and painstakingly stewarded through the winemaking process, the wine achieves great concentration and finesse. The 2006 vintage boasts notes of cassis, dark cherry, cigar, anisette, and caramel, with nuances of cola, cocoa, red apple skin, savory herbs, and vanilla. The wine’s full body and velvety tannins carry the flavors through the mid-palate and into the luxuriously long finish. 92 points "Color: dark; Aromas: black berry; Acidity: supple; Sweetness: dry; Body: full-bodied; Finish: medium; Overall: pleasant; Second ranked wine (by a good distance) in PV Blind Tasting (I rated it 4 of 8). Subdued nose with nicely balanced fruit (cassis to dark cherry) and tobacco. " Best 2016-2025
