93 points "Looking for a consistently over-achieving, full-bodied red? We feel as though the Bodegas El Nido "Clio" Jumilla probably needs no introduction. How about this for a track record (all scores from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate): 2003 vintage - 96 points; 2004 - 97 points; 2005 - 95 points; 2006 - 95 points. 2007 was a very good vintage for Monastrell in Jumilla, rumored to be the region's best. So wait on this wine at your own peril; if past vintages are any indication this will sell out very quickly. (Joe Manekin, K&L Spanish wine buyer) 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "A pungent, smoky bouquet displays rich dark berry preserves along with notes of licorice, violet, cured meat and black pepper. Brighter red fruits on the palate, which is surprisingly energetic for such richness. Tangy cracked pepper and mace notes build with air and carry into the finish. Leaves sweet red and dark berry notes behind on the very long, sappy and sweet finish. This energetic wine is already delicious." (Sept/Oct '09) Estimated arrival: February 2010 "
