"The 1986 is among the greatest Clerc-Milon in my memory, and continues to represent one of the better values of the 1986 vintage. Dark ruby/purple with a super bouquet of sweet, toasty new oak, plums, black currants, licorice, and cedar, on the palate, the wine is very concentrated, rich and powerful, yet atypically soft and fleshy for a 1986. While this wine should age well for another two decades, it can be drunk much earlier than many of the 1986 Pauillacs. It is a sleeper of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: Now-2006. Last tasted, 1/91.

"Not as concentrated, elegant, opulent as the 1989, the 19990 is still a sexy and smooth wine with fragrant nose of cassis, vaniullan, roasted nuts and exotic scents. This is luscious wine with creamy texture and excellent color."
