91 points "The 2010 Viognier shows one of the newer directions Alban is moving towards. In 2010 Alban did one irrigation in July to keep the canopy more robust and less deleafing than in the past, plus no batonnage on this wine. The Viognier is pretty, delicate and classy from start to finish. It shows marvelous verve and freshness in a highly appealing, mineral-driven style. It-s hard to tell how much of the wine-s personality reflects Alban-s approach to viticulture and winemaking in 2010 and how much is the vintage itself, but the wine is unquestionably first-rate. (91-93)." Best 2012-2016

92 points "Bright gold. Deeply pitched aromas of orange pith, poached pear, iodine and salty minerals. Palate-staining orchard and pit fruit flavors show an almost viscous texture and but are nicely enlivened by juicy acidity. Becomes spicier with air, displaying serious intensity but also surprising energy for a wine carrying 15.8% alcohol. Closes on a stony note, with strong finishing cut and sappy persistence."
