" Esperanza Vineyard is a unique microclimate set between two waterways of the SacramentoRiver in the Clarksburg appellation. The area's warm days are cooled by afternoon breezes that move up the river delta from the San Francisco Bay, making this an ideal location to grow quality grapes. The grapes were picked relatively early in order to preserve the acidity and crisp floral character, and that is certainly what you get in the glass! The 2003 Pinot Grigio is a brilliant light gold color with aromas of white flowers, honeysuckle and pear tones. On the palate there is a silky texture with a long, crisp finish. Fruit forward and easy to appreciate (underwent no malolactic, and short-term aging in neutral oak), but interesting enough to serve to your wine snob friends!"
