"t is a modern interpretation of an Aglianico style wine as produced in this area in the past. The grapes are harvested fully over-ripened towards the end of November, and undergo a long maceration, lasting about a month. Sugar content, due to the higher concentration of the fruit, is relatively high and is not completely fermented into alcohol, the residue offering a delicate touch of sweetness, as is also permitted by local production laws. The wine lies in new barriques for 12 months and in third passage barriques for a further 12 months, before bottle aging. The product is remarkably concentrated though elegant at the same time, with a bouquet of blackberry, black cherry and blackcurrant. To the palate it is smooth and powerful, with an eternal finish of liquorice and dark chocolate."
