92 points ""Vivid ruby, Smoky cherry-cola and Indian spice scents show very good energy and focus. Rich but lively, offering intense dark fruit flavors and a brighter note of orange zest. Shows impressive clarity and energy on the finish, which features fine-grained tannins and a late touch of candied rose."

91 points "The 2008 Pinot Noir MacLean’s Block comes from an east-facing slope not far from the town of Occidental. Another wine that is neither fined nor filtered, it displays a dark ruby hue as well as a lush texture and hints of pomegranate, raspberry, black cherry, toasty oak and earth. It should drink well for 3-4 years." Best 2013-2015

94 points "The vineyard is near Occidental, in the cooler southwestern part of the valley, and you can taste the fog and the sea and crisp nights in the acidity, like biting into a Gravenstein apple. Yet this perfect vintage has resulted in perfect fruit. It’s hard to imagine richer blackberry, cherry and licorice flavors. Impeccable and impressive, but young. - April 2010 "
