4 stars "Aromas: mineral; Sweetness: dry; Finish: medium; Lightweight NZ chardonnay, pleasant but somehow a bit lacking. Herby and citrus on the plalate, quite crisp with finer fruit flavours - peach, apricot - but hasn't got the character and oomph of an Aussie chard, or the elegance and style of a French Burgundy. Don't dislike it, but just not quite what I was after. "

"Rich, mouth-filling flavours of lime fruit with smoky oak and hints of butterscotch. The 2005 Wither Hills Marlborough Chardonnay delivers amazing lime citrus, grapefruit pith, and white peach fl avours with an underlying cashew nut, nougat, and brulee creaminess. The palate is complex, with great ‘line’; a focused, tightly knit structure, and succulent long length. A brilliant expression of Marlborough Chardonnay beautifully proportioned and poised. Ideal with seafood, salmon, chicken or turkey. " Best 2008-
