"Color: deep; Nose: complex; Acidity: crisp; Body: full-bodied; Overall: elegant; whooo. from the first second it sits on your tounge the bright, full fruit says this is going to be a good one. As the fruit fades, the structure and tannis come into focus and the body of the wine becomes the primary experience. The finish is smooth, not the most fantastic long, smooth finish, but very good.

"Made from a collection of miscellaneous parcels too small to bottle under their vineyard names, the 1999 Zinfandel Old Vines (1,800 cases, 15.8% alcohol) offers aromas and flavors of black fruits, a muscular, briery, peppery, forceful personality, a seamless texture, copious glycerin, amazing concentration, and a smooth finish. The acidity, tannin, and wood are beautifully integrated in this classic, full-throttle Zinfandel. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. It is even better from bottle than from barrel!"
