"2005 Garys’ Vineyards has a bright red color and a dark ruby core. Cool black cherry fruit with a spicy black currant and smoky aroma. Supple flavors, balanced acidity and smooth tannins reflect its terroir. 391 cases made. "

"A measure of fairly subtle wood is hanging above the flavor of this wine right now, but I'd bet good money that in six months it's going to be fully integrated with all the sweet-succulent fruit that's here (a ripe black cherry-berry note that I always find in Gary's Vineyard Pinots). "

93 points "A stunning, Burgundian-styled Pinot Noir, this 2005 Garys’ Vineyard boasts earthy, spicy, clove, and Allspice characteristics intermixed with notions of black cherries and forest floor. This full-bodied effort is a dead-ringer for a grand cru Burgundy from Morey St.-Denis or Gevrey-Chambertin. A beautiful sweet cherry earthiness and modest alcohol content (for California) of 14.6% suggest this brilliant 2005 should be consumed over the next 7-8 years. " Best 2007-2015
