"When I first saw the price on this I started channeling Michael Caton in The Castle ( 'Tell 'em they're dreaming') .About half way through the first glass though I saw the light. This is quite a wine. Smells pretty, almost feminine, with cherry, liquorice and dusty, dried flowers. Flavours are ripe and in the cherry spectrum but intensely savoury with a liberal coating of dry, grainy tannins that offer both backbone and an excellent cellaring future. There's a fascinating, Italianate feel about this wine that sets it apart from many Australian Durif's- regardless of its influences, this is an exceptional wine that fully meets the lofty expectations engendered by its price tag.

"A very powerful and concentrated wine, with an abundance of red and black fruits, and an even greater abundance of tannins; only time till tell which prevails. Screwcap.
