"The 2004 Timbervine, sourced from a timber-lined hillside vineyard, is medium ruby with a fruit forward aromatic profile of black cherries, plums and pepper. Medium bodied and well balanced, it offers cassis fruit flavors with peppery spice and green olives on the palate and a slightly hard tannic finish."

"I thought the 2006 Syrah Timbervine was cut from the same cloth as the 2005, in one of the more up-front, fruit-laden styles, but with considerable body, richness, and a long, heady finish. This is a big wine that are bursting with black fruits and roasted meat and herb notes."

"$50 Inky ruby. Explosive, highly perfumed aromas of black raspberry, blueberry, smoky minerals and incense, with a strong undercurrent of black pepper. Impressively pure and spicy, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors, velvety texture and a slow-building floral pastille quality. Gains freshness on the finish, which strongly echoes the spice and mineral notes. This is one to put away, but there'd be no crime in drinking a bottle now. (JR) 94 points"
