"Definitely a food wine... enjoyable with the gamy flavors of the lamb. A little more subduded in comparison with 1999 Chateau Clerc-Milon... but still good and about $20 or $30 cheaper than the Clerc-Milon Earthier than the Cain Cuvee NV3."

"Big, full bodied, extremely dry. Not much fruit, lots' of earth, gravel, leather, tobacco. Would be much better with meal."

"Some berry fruit, but rather herbal, with a thick, tobacco finish. Best after 2003. 41,665 cases made."
