"($72) Palish yellow. Sexy aromas of dried pineapple and wet stone are very ripe but fresh. Thick and sweet, but with a sappy quality and firm underlying minerality to the flavors of pear, honey, clove and earth. A rather powerful, concentrated wine with persistent finishing flavors of apricot, honey and earth. Perhaps a bit heavy for this high-altitude wine, in the style of the vintage, but the wine's solid acidity keeps it fresh on the back. Mollard owns two hectares in Virondot, which he describes as "a commercial monopole," by which I assume he means that he's the only producer who sells a wine under this label."
