Tasting Notes:
rated: December 1, 2009 , Robert Parker
93 points "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder (81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot) plays it slightly closer to the vest, and at least at this tasting, seemed to be the most backward and tannic of these wines, which surprised me. There is some creme de cassis fruit intermixed with lead pencil shavings and an almost truffle-like note, but the wine is backward and foreboding. A muscular wine, it needs 3-4 years of bottle age, but should certainly be another 20+-year wine."

90 points "One Puff. 19% Merlot. Ripe and rich, highly aromatic if a touch fumey in the bargain, this big wine combines sweet cassis notes and a full measure of creamy, slightly toasty oak with hints of dried cherry and sage and backs up its boldness with extra layers of tannin in a stiff and sturdy structure. It asks for some four to seven years of patience and will last twice that long . " Best 2013-2024
