87 points "A floral nose with mulberry and pepper notes predominating on the midpalate but with an abrupt almost metalic finish which faded after being open for an hour or so."

87 points "Youthful, vibrant and flavorful, with the floral, spicy notes of Viognier singing harmony with the juicy currant and plum fruit. Light tannins are a bit coarse, and it fades a bit on the finish, but it's an attractive, honest red. Drink now. 3,000 cases made. (HS)" Best 2005-

91 points "Talented winemaker Ben Riggs has fashioned this blend of 94% Shiraz and 6% Viognier, which spent 10 months in French oak. This terrific value represents the frugal person’s Guigal Cote Rotie La Mouline. Its dark ruby/purple color is accompanied by an exotic, floral bouquet revealing aromas of apricots, black currants, and cherries. With loads of fruit, a soft texture, and an adventurous, exotic personality, it will be a fun wine to drink over the next 2-3 years." Best 2005-2008
