"This has a solid core of black fig and plum fruit coated with a layer of mocha. The juicy finish stretches out nicely, with black fruit and sweet smoke notes lingering. Drink now through 2018. 900 cases made."

"The 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape offers up a big, sweet nose of roasted meats, Provencal herbs, kirsch, and black currants, followed by a full-bodied, ripe, dense, supple-textured wine displaying considerable complexity. Already drinking well, it can be enjoyed now and over the next decade. This new producer should not be confused with Clos Saint-Jean. I do not know much about this estate, but these two Chateauneuf du Papes appear to be sleepers of the vintage."
