"Even after four to six hours, the nose was not only brooding, it was closed, but did show very dark spectrum aromas. Another unashamedly, in your face wine, it is full-bodied wine with loads of everything. Tannins are smooth, unobtrusive, but well and truly there; the acid fresh and the fruit deep and strong. With a contrasting sweet and savoury flavour profile, it shows very sweet vanillin oak on the attack followed by blackberry, dark chocolate, black pepper and aniseed. The consistency is supple and the structure almost seamless already. Whilst it is not a great wine, it is a greatly enjoyable wine that red bigots will love. Whilst it is good now, it will be better with a few years of age, and needs a big slab of rare cow. Rated as Excellent with *** for value, it is sealed with a Diam cork.
