"Solid, with complex aromas of blackberry, violet and berry. Medium- to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a black olive and cherry aftertaste. Very good indeed"

"- June 2000 - I have drunk several cases of this wine, but this was one of the finest bottles I ever tasted. This dark plum/garnet-colored, extraordinarily fragrant 1982 offers a terrific bouquet of roasted coffee, cedar wood, prunes, plums, and cherry liqueur. Sexy, opulently-textured, medium to full-bodied, and extremely low in acidity, it boasts wonderfully fresh fruit. This La Dominique, while fully mature (it has been for over a decade), displays no signs of losing its intensity or succulent fatness. Drink it over the next ten years.
- Dec 95 - (90) This wine was so inexpensive I used to drink it 3-6 times a month - at least until my stocks began to be depleted. It is not as exceptional as the 1989 and 1990 La Dominique, but the wine remains splendidly opulent, as well as more aggressively tannic. The color is still a deep, plummy, ruby/purple with only slight lightening at the edge. The nose of jammy black fruits intertwined with scents of licorice, smoke, and pain grillee is followed by a medium to full-bodied, expansive, chewy wine with some tannin present in the finish. The wine has become far more delineated with cellaring. I would have thought this wine would be fully mature by 1995, but it is still an adolescent. Look for this delicious, beefy, chunky 1982 to hit its plateau of full maturity in 1-2 years and last for another 12-15 . Tasted 21 times since bottling with inconsistent notes."

"Far better than in recent vintages, with a complex nosetypical of the Pomerol border (more flowery than spicy, with a special 'iron' touch), velvety texture, ripe tannins, long after-taste. Rich and elegant with great future. Drinkfrom 2013. (17 points)"
