"Here’s the first review in a series (using reverse alphabetical order) featuring wines produced by the members of the AFFW. I think I’ll have a cigar to celebrate.
I swear you can almost smell the tannins..but first Cassis, dark cherry, chocolate, tobacco, tar and spice sweeten the way. It’s medium to full bodied, particularly inky and strong with a slick of firm grainy tannin, although has excellent fruit and flavour to balance. Long and satisfying - closes with yet another slick of strong black tea tannin. Leave it alone for a good while. A bargain for the cellar.

"Really good Coonawarra Cabernet, has a dark, inky depth - even at moderate alcohol levels. It tastes of blackberries and dried herbs, cedarwood and raspberries, though listing the components does nothing to describe the overal effect. There's a 'realness' to this wine. A power. A churn of tannin and a lot of length. It's enough to make you fall in love with Coonawarra all over again. Drink 2013-2020 95 points.
