5 stars "Color: deep; Nose: complex; Aromas: black berry; Acidity: supple; Sweetness: dry; Body: full-bodied; Finish: persistent; Overall: elegant; This proved to be an amazing bottle. It has aged wonderfully, and it strength (15%) is subtle. Consumed over two days (decanted - very necessary) this just got better and better. Complex mix of black fruits, dark plums and slightly sour cherries. Texture very refined. Tannins showing a little on day one, but day 2 had softened to a voluptuous silkiness, and a very long finish. Where a straight shiraz could have been too domineering, the grenache imparted a delicacy to the mix. Very memorable!" Best 2014-

93 points "It is a fabulously serious, concentrated effort with a dense ruby/purple colour, great intensity, and a sweet perfume of black cherry liqueur intermixed with blackberry, kirsch, and pepper characteristics. Opulent and seamless, with layers of flavour, this classic effort can be drunk now and over the next 18 years." Best 2007-2017
