"Beckman’s Syrah program is also impressive, with the Estate Syrahs accompanied by more limited cuvees (300+ cases) of single vineyard or single clone wines. The least expensive is the value-priced 2004 Syrah Estate. Soft tapenade aromas intermixed with cassis, cherries, licorice, and spice jump from the glass of this supple, medium-bodied, fruit-driven, expansive, savory wine. It is a consumer-friendly Syrah that is capable of lasting 4-5 years."
