"The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon “St. Hugo” was aged in new and used French oak for 18-24 months depending upon the parcel. Purple-colored, the nose exhibits attractive mint and eucalyptus notes as well as cassis and black cherry. On the palate, this Cabernet is medium to full-bodied with a supple palate-feel and good flavors which are all on the surface. The wine is ready to drink and should be consumed over the next 4-6 years.

"Vibrant, intense and minty, with violet-like aromas of cassis and sweet chocolate/vanilla/cedar oak backed by nuances of mocha and menthol. Delightfully fresh and punchy, its moderately rich palate of cassis, blackberry, mulberry and plum-like fruit is yet to flesh out fully and integrate with a firm but balanced extract of drying, chalky tannins. Long and persistent, it’s finished with a fresh acidity. (Coonawarra, 17.9/92, drink 2013-2017+)"
