" 92 points Wine Spectator: "Explosive in its intensity and aromas. Vivid flavors of apricot, pear, black currant and slate mark this delicate young Riesling. Finesse to spare. Great expression of grape and site. A touch lighter, yet more expressive than the Wehlener Sonnenuhr today. Best from 2006 through 2020." According to David Schildknecht of the International Wine Cellar: "It took a few minutes for the fermentative overlay to blow off here, revealing blue and black fruits, citrus, salt and iodine minerality, with a tingling combination of acidity and spritz. Like all of the wines here today, this is notable for its delicacy of touch and satisfying length. 1 star.""

"95 Points Wine Spectator "Silky and suave, with violet, lime, mineral and scallion aromas and flavors, this is concentrated and graceful. It’s unevolved today, needing a year or so to open up, but will develop well. Fine class and harmony. Best from 2008 through 2025. From Germany.—B.S." According to Claude Kolm in the Fine Wine Review: "And so we come to what Stuart Pigott has justly called the world's greatest white wine estate. Dr. Manfred Prüm is now assisted by his talented daughter Katharina who, like him, is a lawyer. Dr. Manfred Prüm thinks of his 2005s as a combination of 2004 and 2003, more classic than 2003, and richer than 2004. The harvest here was early, beginning on 6 October, and finished rapidly, contrary to the usual practice of waiting and harvesting late for the top wines... The Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese has spiced apple aromas with spiciness in the mouth, lots of minerality, some apple and pear flavors, succulence, and depth." (#113, November 2006)"
