92 points "Rated: 91 by Stephen Tanzer, Jan/Feb '01 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar Very good red-ruby color. Quintessential superripe grenache aromas of dark chocolate, damp earth and a hint of raisiny surmaturite Fat, thick, sweet and superripe, but with firm supporting acidity and toothdusting tannins giving this huge wine good shape and structure. Flavors of crystallized black raspberry, bitter chocolate, mocha and oak. A very powerful wine that wears its alcohol reasonably gracefully. 95 points "Distinguished, deep and complex Rhône, offeringlayers of wet earth, mineral and ripe fruit in aseductive and harmonious combination. Superbmidpalate concentration. Full-bodied and intense, with massive but refined tannins. Still, it needsaging. Best from 2003 through 2020" Best 2003-2020
