Ruby red, with a garnet edge. Very open aromas of violet, berry and sweet spices. Full-bodied, with very fine tannins and well-integrated fruit. Dried dark fruits and Indian spices on the finish. Chewy too. Give it a little more time.--1997 Italian blind retrospective. Best from 2008 through 2016.
