92 points "Yalumba The Scribbler cabernet blend has been a real hit in recent years and the 2010 vintage has delivered another excellent wine. This year’s release is cabernet sauvignon 57% / shiraz 43%. It’s an easy-going red with a perfect pitch of tannin and excellent balance. Not sure you can ask for much more. Blackcurrant, toasty cedar, dried tobacco, and minted plums. Medium weight and blessedly so. Its balance sees it drinking very well as a youngster, though of course it should develop well over the medium term as well. You can buy this with confidence." Best 2014-2019

94 points "#1 in The Big Red Wine Book (2009/2010) Top 100 Reds Under $20 Yalumba has a long history of making fine cabernet-shiraz blends, and this new wine is an excellent addition. It's 63% cabernet sauvignon with the remainder shiraz. A beautiful example of this classic blend. It has power and structure, an enormous amount of length, and terrific, supple texture. It shows perfectly how well cabernet sauvignon and shiraz complement each other. Savoury, dusty, curranty and pure. This would make an excellent choice for the cellar. Drink: 2011-2016.
