"Sweetly fruited on the nose with a bit of dill herb up top and leather and flinty smoke accenting the black currant fruit. Super smooth on entry and tight with really fine tension holding everything together. With some time the tannins become a bit more apparent over a deep bed of earthy fruit. This is rather large scaled but very well balanced and yet the flavors are nicely restrained with fine red currant and almost raspberry fruit and a nice almost meaty backend that leads to a subtle, lingering finish that has a nice subtle persistence of fruit. This is pretty classic stuff and needs 2-4 years to help soften the tannins. "
