" Lush, that's the first word that comes to mind upon sampling this 2001 Merlot, sourced from a few of Napa's most notable appellations including Rutherford (60%), Carneros (25%), Yountville (9%) and St. Helena (6%). Unlike most Napa Merlots, this one is 100% Merlot, and as such it exhibits wonderful purity in both aromatics (think plums, plums and more plums) and on the palate (where more plums are joined by a touch of raspberry, too). Aged for 19 months in 70% French and 30% American oak barrels, new to seven-years-old."
