The vibrant intensity of the fruit aromas is typical of Geyser Peak's style, as is the restrained oak, which supports the fruit without dominating it. Ripe raspberry, blackberry and black cherry flavors harmonize on the wine's rich, juicy mid-palate with toasty oak notes. Firm Alexander Valley tannins come to the fore on the finish, which harmonizes persistent fruit flavors with fine-grained tannins. Aged for 15 months in 100% American oak barrels: 20% new oak; 80% a balanced mixture of one-, two-, and three-year old oak. Plot some New York steaks and on the grill and prepare to be wowed!"
