93 points "A big, burly Barbaresco, this red is built for aging. It's extremely ripe, with prune, plum and floral aromas, and is full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long, long finish. Give it time. Best after 2005 Ruby-garnet, with very ripe fruit aromas of prune, strawberry and Indian spices. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long, flavorful aftertaste. Lots going on here.--1997 Italian blind retrospective. Drink now. 450 cases made. –JS " Best 2006-2011

92 points "International in style, but complex and beautifully made, this full-bodied seducer uses its fancy oak origins to tap into Piedmont's register: flavorful black fruit (with violet, mint, currant notes), ripe but tough tannins, racy acidity, and, especially, the mineral terroir. Has the stuffing to age. Best from 2006 through 2010. 150 cases made. Displays plum aromas, with toasty oak undertones. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and a long, flavorful finish of fruit and tar. Still tight.--1996 Piedmont retrospective. Best after 2008. 150 cases made" Best 2008-2012
