93 points "The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino is a big wine loaded with personality. Sweet dark cherries, licorice, smoke and leather burst from the glass in this explosive, rich Brunello. Layers of flavor develop with air, filling out the wine’s broad-shouldered frame very nicely. Firm tannins support the generous finish. This is a fabulous showing from Mastrojanni. The Brunello was fermented in cement and aged cask for 36 months. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2027. Wine Enthusiast -- 92pts Here’s a dark, austere expression of Brunello, with layers of exotic spice, toasted nut, cardamom and forest underbrush. Small berry fruit comes through as raspberry and black currant. In the mouth, the wine is bright, defined and firm, showing solid tannic structure. James Suckling -- 95 pts Love the aromas of cedar, light vanilla, dark berry and plums. Full body, with layered tannins and a beautiful mouth-feel. Lingers for minutes. This is a subtle and complex wine. Mastrojanni is getting better and better. Better than 2006" Best 2015-2027
