" 91 points Wine Spectator: "Excellent structure, rich and intense, a flinty style with complex fig, apricot, anise and buttery notes, picking up citrus and honey on a long, lingering, mineral aftertaste. Needs time; has a good track record for improving with age."91+ points from The International Wine Journal: "Pale yellow-gold. Reticent aromas of orange skin, marzipan, toasted hazelnut and nutmeg. I was reminded of both Meursault and Corton-Charlemagne. Intensely flavored and sappy, with citrus, nut skin and mineral elements. Dense and strong in extract; built to age!" (05/01)"

"- June 2002 - The tightly-knit 1999 Chardonnay Estate reveals high acidity, subtle honeysuckle, mineral, and butter notes, and notions of oak in the background. It is built like a grand cru white Burgundy and is capable of lasting 8-10 years. Although lighter than past examples, it offers a distinctive character as well as unusual longevity, particularly for a California Chardonnay.
