"Drank w/ 97 Insignia & 99 Valdicava Brunello. Fontodi was the most discreet of the 3 and the wine I thought needed the most time. Beautiful wine, complex and perfectly balanced. Perhaps the most subtle of the 3"

"Monumental, with masses of blackberry, coffee, berry and cherry aromas. Full-bodied, with layers of ripe tannins. Goes on and on. Builds on the palate. I have never tasted a greater wine from here. Better than 1997. Best after 2007. 4,000 cases made. (JS)"
