" A deep garnet colour. The nose is retiecent at first with cedar, pencil-lead and iron rust developing with a little more richness than the 1989. The palate is cohesive, quite tarry with notes of liquorice on the mid-palate. More concentration and grip than the 1988 but still overtly backward and broody. Good potential, but give it another five years. "
