98 points "The succession of prodigious Syrahs continues with the 2006 Syrah Seymour’s Vineyard (named after John Alban’s father). An infant in terms of development, it exhibits a smoky meatiness along with a forest floor character as well as its siblings’ colossal level of concentration, enormous, multilayered texture, and skyscraper-like mouthfeel. Remarkably, there is no sense of heaviness. Another tour de force in Central Coast Syrah, it should drink well for 30-40 years. (98+)." Best -2039

95 points "The 2011 Syrah Seymour's Vineyard is the clear standout in 2011. Full-bodied, concentrated, beautifully textured and with superb ripeness, it offers lots of currants, tapenade, spice-box and smoked meats to go with a full-bodied, concentrated and even voluptuous feel on the palate. While this was backward and reserved during my tasting last year, it's come on like gangbusters since then and is one of the more approachable and forward Seymour's I've tasted. (95-98+)." 98 points "The 2012 Syrah Seymour's Vineyard comes from a tiny, windswept parcel at the top of John's estate. Its inky black color is followed by sensational notes of black olives, smoked earth, charcoal and perfectly ripe dark fruits. Deep, rich and concentrated, it's one of the more focused, pretty examples of this cuvee out there. Nevertheless, it has plenty of tannin and will keep for two decades in the cellar." Best 2018-2038
