"89-91 points: This is a reassuring as well as encouraging offering from this great estate in the southern sector of Pessac Leognan. A deep ruby/purple color, and a sweet perfume of cassis and vanilla are followed by a medium-bodied, expansively flavored, concentrated wine with loads of fruit, considerable definition, and soft tannin. Domaine de Chevalier can give the appearance of being too woody and lean, but the 2002 has flawlessly integrated wood. The tannin is sweet in this impressively elegant, expansive Pessac Leognan. It should drink well between 2006-2016."

"Nice plum and strawberry aromas with hints of tobacco and smoke. Medium bodied, with medium tannins and a silky finish. Fine and fresh. Best after 2005."
