" Anyone who has visited the domaine knows this vineyard well. If you step out the back door of Roty's home, you are standing in the midst of the 50 year old vines. I liked this a notch better than the Champs Chenys in 2001, which is not always the case. It has sweeter fruit on the entry, and is less overtly structured, in terms of tannins. It has also climbed out of its shell a bit further than the Champs Chenys, and shows you a bit more of the pretty fruit that the 2001s are just beginning to evolve. (Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy Buyer, 03/04) Burghound describes it by saying: "This too is remarkably fine and pure for villages level Gevrey with more structure and sap than the Clos Prieur and plenty of Gevrey character and a concentrated, nicely persistent finish. Solid quality here." (Burghound, 01/03)"
