" This vineyard, at the top of the hill, produces bright, lovely wines. The 2002 has good minerality, combined with rich fruit, more than a hint of toasty oak, and lovely bright fruit with a citrus note. Good acidity supports the ripe fruit and gives a long finish. As Clive Coates might say, very good for what it is. Or, to put it differently, top quality for a village wine.(Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy Buyer, 03/04) Allen Meadows picks this as a Key Buy, gives it 90 Points, and says: "Noticeable wood spice frames nutty green fruit aromas and racy, pure, intense and admirablydense medium weight flavors that offer solid punch on the vibrant, fresh and mineral-infused finish. While the wood is presently a bit intrusive, it should integrate with a few years and this is as good an example of Les Clous as I can remember. Excellent quality at this level." (Burghound, 04/04)"
