"My favorite of this trio is the 2004 Syrah Larner Vineyard, which boasts an opaque purple color along with more minerality, gorgeously pure creme de cassis, blackberry, and smoky notes, and a full-bodied palate impression with impressive depth as well as silky tannins. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.

"Larner Vineyard is among several highly regarded properties that Herman Story's winemaker, Russell From uses and it is extremely delicious. The site is well suited to Syrah and Grenache.
A graphite/slate nose with sweet, earthy violet tinted aromas. The palate is deep, smooth and lush, espresso and smoke laden black fruits sprinkled with white pepper make this irresistible."
