91 points "My favorite of this trio is the 2004 Syrah Larner Vineyard, which boasts an opaque purple color along with more minerality, gorgeously pure creme de cassis, blackberry, and smoky notes, and a full-bodied palate impression with impressive depth as well as silky tannins. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. " Best 2006-2014

95 points "Larner Vineyard is among several highly regarded properties that Herman Story's winemaker, Russell From uses and it is extremely delicious. The site is well suited to Syrah and Grenache. A graphite/slate nose with sweet, earthy violet tinted aromas. The palate is deep, smooth and lush, espresso and smoke laden black fruits sprinkled with white pepper make this irresistible."
