" Bright and charming on the nose, with notes of fruit cocktail. On the palate it shows very bright fruit, but the darkness you expect from Nuits. At the very back palate, it definitely shows the structure and tannins you expect, but it they are ripe and fine, and largely masked by the richness of fruit. This has tremendous aging potential. (Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy Buyer, 03/04)Allen Meadows gives this 89-91 points and picks it as a Key Buy, when he writes: "Quite ripe and expressive but this seems downright somber compared to the expansiveness of the Charmes. Remarkably intense and mineral-laden flavors offer an attractive blend of power and style with only a trace of rusticity that is more than compensated for by the terrific finishing complexity.
