" Garragists have been making a splash with their high-end, high-octane wines in Bordeaux, pricy examples that vie with France's most coveted established labels. Who would have guessed that the next wave of garage wines would hail from South America? The Antiyal is widely considered one of the best Chilaean reds, but it also holds its own in competition with many leading wines of the world. It is made from the celebrated Chilean winemaker Álvaro Espinoza from a blend of carmenere, cabernet sauvignon and syrah most of which is grown on the one-acre vineyard that surrounds Espinoza's house. Talk about some very personal terroir! Plummy, smoky and herb-accented, last year's Antiyal got 92 points and a Highly Recommended designation from the Spectator."
