"Few California wineries (other than Sine Qua Non and Alban) seem able to produce a profound Grenache, but Beckman Vineyards’ 2005 Grenache Purisima Mountain is outstanding. It reveals classic black raspberry, pepper, and mineral notes, medium body, gorgeous levels of fruit, an enticing texture, and wonderful freshness. This hefty wine hides its whopping alcohol brilliantly behind a cascade of fruit. Consume it over the next 3-4 years."
