"Includes 10% co-fermented viognier; from a very cool Green Valley vineyard farmed biodynamically. Saturated medium ruby. Distinctly Northern Rhone- like aromas of blackberry, minerals, gunflint and violet. Supple on entry, then quite suave in the middle, with spicy, peppery black fruit flavors nicely framed by harmonious acidity. Impressively deep, structured wine that really builds toward the back end. This has the lowest pH (3.67) and lowest alcohol (14.8%) of any of the Pax 2003 syrahs. "

"The dense purple-tinged 2003 Syrah Kobler Family Vineyard (a bio-dynamically run vineyard in the cool Green Valley region of Sonoma) includes 10% Viognier co-fermented as well as 75% stems. The most elegant and lightest of the Pax Syrahs, it possesses beautiful red and black currants along with a hint of lavender, medium body, lovely purity, and a layered, complex finish."
