"I can’t help but think of the band The Prodigy when I see this wine, creators of songs with thumping beats and minimalist lyrics. It doesn’t take much to trigger something in my little head either mind you, so I’ve been singing “I’m a firestarter” for the last couple of hours…
Lots of toasty mocha and nougat oak but it’s bedding down very nicely amongst the rich but vibrant blackberry and raspberry fruit. There’s a twist of pepper and plenty of spice too - all very nice. Medium to full bodied, fresh and lively with fine grained ripe tannins and seamless flow through the mouth finishing long and spicy with a cedary aftertaste. Very impressive wine, but one that comes with the caveat that you need to enjoy a good clip of (quality) oak.
