"92 points and two stars from the Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine: "62% Pinot Noir; 38% Chardonnay. The little brother to J. Schram Rose, this younger version is more oriented to Pinot Noir, which results in both greater frontal fruitiness here and a slight increase in heft. This wine is full of outgoing charm and richness with a fresh yeast accent and a mouthful of bubbles, and it is the wine to choose for informal occasions when the J. Schram would ask for more serious contemplation. It has been a consistent winner in these pages and is again."(November 2008) Schramsberg Brut Rosé is flavorful, complex and dry, making it both versatile with food and delicious by itself as an apéritif. The character of the wine is most strongly influenced by bright, flavorful Pinot Noir grown in Carneros, Anderson Valley, and the Sonoma and Marin coastal areas. A few small lots of Pinot Noir are fermented in contact with their skins to add depth and subtle color to this unique sparkling wine. Chardonnay gives spice, structure and length on the palate.
