"Color: dark; Nose: complex; Aromas: black berry; Acidity: supple; Body: full-bodied; Finish: persistent; Overall: rich; I would seldom give a 5-starrating, butthisnis magnificent! Just coming out after 5 hours decanting (an accident!). Wonderfully plummy with overtones of blackberry, strawberry and licorice. Very soft and fruity - after 6 hours even more so. Disposed of the pheasant and a variety of cheeses, and without the 14.5 coming through as too big - it's all so complete and right at the moment. Very glad I kept it back.

"The 2002 The Footbolt Shiraz is linear, tannic, and austere, without the generosity of the D’Arry’s Original. Earthy, smoky, peppery, black currant fruit is found in this medium-bodied, angular Shiraz. With excellent ripeness in addition to moderate tannin, it should drink well for 5-6 years.
