" A generous perctange of merlot (20%), has been included in this outstanding wine, giving the more traditional prugnolo gentile-based red a fruity, forward plummy character that will please California palates and Italophiles alike. Fermentaion occured in stainless steel. The prugnolo grapes rested in concrete tanks, while the merlot was aged in American oak barriques (50% new)."
