Tasting Notes:
rated: January 31, 2007 , International Wine Cellar
92 points "Dark ruby. Intensely spicy aromas of vibrant strawberry and raspberry, underscored by cinnamon and allspice; this smells like an elegant Burgundy. Very sweet but sharply focused on the palate, with mineral-laced red berry and cherry flavors and an intriguing licorice quality building through the finish. A fascinating and very suave wine with impressive balance and persistence. 92-95 points"

91 points "An exciting effort from this estate is the 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes, which is a blend of 60% Grenache and equal parts Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvedre, and Counoise. The wine has a deep plum/ruby/garnet color and an expressive nose of blue and red fruits intermixed with some incense, pepper, and spice box. It is full-bodied, lush, with terrific fruit, silky tannins, and decent acidity. This is a wine to drink over the next decade. 91-94 points." Best 2007-2017
