"Four generations of learning - the Chambers winery has been owned by the same family since its establishment in 1858 - and is one of only a few wineries in Australia with this track record.
Integrity of blending process - the continuity of ownership has resulted in an extremely consistent style and ensured that older stocks are preserved for future use.
One of Australia's leading palates - Bill Chambers, the current Chief Winemaker, was Chairman of Judges at one of Australia's most prestigious wine competitions, The Royal Melbourne for over a decade - it's his exceptional tasting ability that ensures the high quality and consistency of the blends.
Over 100 years of blending material available - producing great fortified muscat and muscadelle requires patient aging in old oak barrels - in most cases, longer the better. Chambers has stocks over a century old that are used to add complexity and depth to their wines - it is almost unique in Australia for a winery to have access to such aged material.
A totally unique style - there is nowhere else in the world that produces a style like the Rutherglen Muscats and Muscadelles (tokays) - the process of fortifying the partially fermented wine and then aging for decades in old oak barrels results in a concentrated, powerful wine that is not cloying and has amazing balance."
